April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4th, 1995. In the seventh grade she began to take piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her passion to write songs. When she was 12 years old, April came up with her first original song Different. At the age of 14, April spent a lot of her time making song lyrics and working on her music. The following years, she took writing excursions along with her father to LA as well as NY. April also began incorporating additional relevant subjects into the Take my Hand song for some acquaintances, including peer pressure disabilities and teen suicide. Lockhart works in partnerships at famous Clean Beauty brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle blogger with her own growing following. The truth is that she was born with no left hand and that makes her unique. But this isn't the only characteristic of her. Lockhart does not deny that she has a disability on Instagram, but she does not make it the main focus of the post. The point? It's this: We all have many identities, we're far more complicated than we believe that we're. It's not my intention to let that be the only thing that defines me. I don't wish to become a disability influencer where it's the only thing I speak about since there are so many other aspects to my life. Lockhart speaks via video from her home in Nashville. It doesn't impact my everyday life. I go about every day as normal and have found my own method of adjusting the things. But, I consider it a very important component of my life. Lockhart who is an source of inspiration for anyone who wants to be self-accepting, is on a long process to attain it. Lockhart admits to having gone through phases where she felt insecure about dressing in certain styles that displayed her arms. Now she wears whatever outfit she wishes and shares pictures on Facebook with pride. To her, self-love was an extended process. That's true of everyone regardless of the level of insecurity. People you associate yourself with that truly understand you and see into your heart are the ones you should be relying on to help you remember what you're worried about.
