Shortly thereafter thousands of students around the world took part in the #FridaysforFuture strike, which saw students skip school on Fridays in protest of the effects of climate change. The world's climate campaigners joined forces in the year 2019, to lead the Global Strike for Climate. It was hugely successful; over 1.6million individuals from 100 countries participated.
