My son played in the playpen as I sat for 12 hours in sanding floors and taking down the wallpaper. Ha! Ha! It all started to be clear, but was far from completed. The project would require lots of time and money and my personal favorite brands interiors to decorate this place. In order to stay in my budget I took my kids with me to look for treasures in estate sales. The routine we had for the week was to walk from Thursday through Saturday through garage and estate sales, buying antique and brand new furniture while I spent weekends painting and sanding the driveway. Furniture looked this way... and that's where I got my passion to restore. I kept on restoring furniture, even after having completed the renovation of our home. I rented a booth at the local market and even sold some items there. Then I bought more that I had no idea how to use them and outgrew the space. The house became a venue that I hosted open houses. Up 1000 people would be able to view the items on my first floor before purchasing these items. Growing Days was created in this home. Not only was my business flourishing, but I was also growing our sweet family as well. It was essential to find the right balance for me. I wished to be both a mom and a successful business owner. Growing Days just fit. Nora my fourth child was born in the year 2013. It was a great direction for my business, however, I needed an escape. I decided to step back and spend some time at home, spending time with my children. It was exactly what I needed. After a few minutes the phone started to ring. Many people called me for help on home improvement and decorating. It was mostly those that came to my house for furniture. After that, I gradually took on clients at my own speed. In the end, I had many customers and was operating an enterprise of renovations to homes. I'm sure you would have laughed at me had I had told you that this would become the basis of the DIY Network tv series. In fact, I do smile when I think about it.
